It took a lot of creative thinking to develop an auto dealership on this 2-acre property in Glendale, WI. The site was already small for an auto dealership, which eliminated the possibility of an above-ground storm water pond. Site Engineering Services, LLC designed underground storm water detention and water quality components in order to preserve the maximum site area for surface parking. Thus making the project feasible.
This former city landfill, and brownfield site, remained undeveloped for years. Major challenges included working around areas of weak soil support, calculating the volumes of soil removal, and management of both contaminated, and un-contaminated, soils to minimize the major expense of off-site soil disposal.
